GRAFS GR industrial knife grinder – professional sharpening in the printing, woodworking and recycling industries

GRAFS GR series grinders are modern automatic machines designed for the precise sharpening of knives used in machines such as chippers, granulators, planers, guillotines, mills , and other devices requiring high rigidity and accuracy.

Thanks to its solid construction and European components, the GR model ensures reliable operation for many years even under intensive use.

Description

The GRAFS GR series grinder is designed for sharpening knives used mainly in the printing, woodworking and recycling industries.

The grinder features a number of improvements that ensure high-quality sharpening over many years of use. It is equipped with a rotating electromagnetic chuck (in the GR-2100e model with a length of 2100 mm); knives can also be clamped with clamps on the other side of the table. Proper cooling of the sharpened surfaces is provided by a cooling system with a tank and a magnetic coolant separator with a rotating drum - model MS60.

The standard grinding motor power is 5,5 kW. A special mounting holder developed in-house allows quick and easy removal and fitting of the grinding wheel using just three fixing screws.
The carriage is equipped with top-class linear rollers (PWTR) which ensures quiet and smooth operation. The carriage runs on hardened steel strips.

Model GR has additionally been equipped with PLC control + 7″ HMI touch-screen panel from Mitsubishi, enabling easy programming of the sharpening cycle (various modes, i.e. operation without infeed, grinding (automatic infeed from 0,001 mm to 0,05 mm), spark-out, pause), as well as remote service support via Wi‑Fi.

The machine is ideal for sharpening knives that require high rigidity and precision, such as guillotine knives, recycling and granulator knives, large chipper knives and three-knife trimmer knives - wherever high performance and stability are required

Our solutions in the GRAFS GR machine:
- Easy-to-use 7-inch HMI touch panel from Mitsubishi,
- Mitsubishi PLC controller, fully programmable operating mode: automatic infeed in the range 0,001 mm – 0,03 mm, automatic spark-out, automatic machine shutdown after work is completed, electronic infeed by stepper motor. Parameters can be changed both before and during operation (number of passes, infeed range),
- Module for communication with the machine via the Internet (remote service),
- The grinding motor can be set in a tilted position from 0-10 degrees, surface grinding possible, (special stops with adjusting screws for precise setting / adjustment of the motor in the “0” position)
- Tilting electromagnetic table, with a working surface of 150x2100 mm, “S” type polarity 20 mm, clamping force 120N/cm2, table controlled from the main machine console,
- Additional clamping with clamps on the other side of the table with a T-slot,
- Replaceable hardened stainless steel strips on the machine body guides,
- Mechanism for disengaging the carriage drive and manually positioning the carriage over the knife,
- Carriage can be shifted relative to the slide (Y axis) for sharpening wider knives (up to 350 mm),
- Rapid up / down travel of the grinding motor – for quick grinding wheel changes,
- Infeed adjustment by handwheel and precise positioning of the grinding motor relative to the workpiece,
- Polish-made grinding motor with a power of 5,5 kW, equipped with a holder allowing quick change of any grinding wheel (including segmented ones) with a diameter in the range 150-300 mm,
- Special grinding wheel holder with 3 screws for quick removal and fitting of the wheel,
-
External coolant separator: Magnetic separator MS60, with a mobile tank of 150 L and a pump with a flow rate of 60L/min,
- Carriage speed controller 1-16 m/min (potentiometer + inverter),
-
Scale showing the motor infeed,
- Scale showing the table rotation angle,
- Coolant line inside the machine body (for flushing the table),
- LED lighting 24V of the working area,
- Operating manual, diagrams, technical documentation in Polish,
- Paint: powder coated, body RAL7012 carriage RAL7021

ADDITIONAL OPTIONS:
- Option to fit additional bellows covers on the machine body,
- Option to connect any coolant filter to the machine - magnetic, fleece or a combined set.

The GR grinder is a 100% Polish product built exclusively with European components. The machine has all the required electrical tests, an operating manual in Polish and an EU declaration of conformity (CE mark).
